We have experienced tremendous progress in terms of digital imaging over the past decades, but with the rise of ultra-mobility that include smartphones, action cameras but also aerial drones, video recording happens in highly dynamic places where it is easy to introduce "shaking" into the recorded material. There are integrated solutions like analog or electronic (often both) on-board image stabilization that can help, but those systems are often limited by the size of the host device.
Mastor Tech has come up with a simple and elegant solution to the problem by externalizing the image stabilization system into an array of universal mounts that are electronically monitored and stabilized by small electric motors. Their solutions use the vertical axis (up) as a frame of reference to stabilize virtually any digital imaging device, including smartphones, cameras, camcorders and DSLRs. Their custom solutions include integrating the stabilization systems onto professional-grade aerial drones that are built by Mastor Tech.
Adding a stabilization mechanism to these types of mounts is very innovative and highly efficient. It also builds upon the original goal for these mounts which is to stabilize recordings by reducing the user muscle strain.
Choosing a mount is done depending on the size and the weight of the device. The weight is a critical factor because the stabilization motors need to be strong enough to move the imaging device. Once the size and weight parameters are known, Mastor Tech most likely has a product that will fit the characteristic of most imaging devices, and it is always possible for them to build something custom for specific professional needs.
