In the Industrial Design category, our group has been stunned by what the Casio printing system can do. It can produce prints that feel like real leather, tatami mats or kimono cloth, just to cite a few – there are simply countless possibilities. Additionally, it can print of all that in thousands of colors, and for a price that is reasonable for professionals.
Today, it is a remarkable tool for all sorts of designers and is already used by some car manufacturers for interior design prototyping. Additionally, design companies will be able to compile databases of materials which will also become very valuable assets.
In the future, we are hoping that mass production will lower prices and extend the reach of this technology to many more aspects of industrial design.
