IR COLOR NIGHTVISION

Being able to see in color is a big advantage that we have when compared to other species. Over time, we have used technology to amplify this visual advantage, including the ability to see at night without using visible light. However, the main inconvenience of nearly all night vision technology, is that we lose the ability to perceive colors, which can be very important if you want to find or describe something more precisely. This is something that Sharp has overcome today, and with its new night vision technology, it is possible to see in total darkness – and in color. To achieve this, Sharp had to develop a new illumination technique, along with new sensors to capture color information. When released on the market, we hope that this technology could improve most types of night vision needs, to further reduce the gap between night and day.
