Panasonic’s Technics brand has been a leader in home entertainment and sound system for decades. The brand is back after six years with a sleek presentation of the new Reference Class R1 music sound system.
The Reference class system is made up three unique parts -- a stereo power amp, a network audio control player and a speaker system. It is a nice blend of design and functionality.
 During the 20-minute presentation at CEATEC JAPAN in the listening room we heard sharp and yet integrated sounds of jazz, classical music, as well as a vocal track. The sound did not appear overbearing, but it had a rich tone and completely engaged the audience. It was certainly one of the best presentations at CEATEC JAPAN.
 For all of these reasons we the judges give the Home Entertainment award to Technics Reference Class R1 system.
