IEICE (The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers) hosts a Special Symposium, IEICE Tokyo Section Symposium and technical Workshops in the CEATEC JAPAN 2014, inviting distinguished speakers and panelists from the industry, academia and public sectors of Japan. In the Special Symposium, they will express their views and discuss on how "ICT (information and Communication Technology) designs the Future" from each standpoint with observation of recent progress in smart technologies and emerging services employing high-speed network and various mobile devices. IEICE Tokyo section will have a symposium focusing on "Prospect for the social evolution promoted by 5G mobile access communication and wearable devices, and trend in their technologies". In this session, the latest technologies in wireless network and wearable devices will be introduced and discussed including their applications to the businesses. Also the IEICE Workshops aim to give opportunities of presentation and discussion on various technical fields covering electronics, information and communications.

IEICE Special Symposium

IEICE (The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers) hosts a Special Session in the CEATEC JAPAN 2014, inviting distinguished speakers and panelists from the industry, academia, public sectors of Japan. Recently ICT (information and Communication Technology) has been expected to provide smart solutions to various issues of the society such as efficient operation of social infrastructures. Furthermore as seen in the progress of smartphones and interest in "big data", the evolution of ICT provides significant expectations for novel values and growth which should lead to the future society. With focus on the prospects of society and industry supported by ICT in the future, the speakers and panelists will discuss how the future could be designed and transfigured by ICT from the perspective of each industry, academia and public sectors.
