Built-in camera technologies improve with every new generation of smartphones. As Samsung, Apple, and now Google introduce more advanced photographic capabilities into their products, consumers continue to switch from dedicated cameras to phones for all of their photo and video capture needs. While photo capabilities have improved tremendously, when we consider the state of smartphone video capture, our first thought is often "shaky cam". Although technologies like optical image stabilization help to reduce jitter, they cannot eliminate it. Traditional camera stabilizer mounts tend to be large, expensive, and generally not designed for phones. DJI's new Osmo Mobile changes the game by making the motorized gimbal affordable and phone-friendly. In addition to the basic gimbal functionality, consumers can enhance their videos by using DJI's unique combination of hardware and software to track objects in view or to make smooth motion time-lapse videos.
