Organizers’ Special Exhibit
- The organizer has specifically designed IoT Town as an area created to better disseminate the new concept of CEATEC JAPAN 2016.
Companies interested in creating new markets will convene at IoT Town to generate ideas for innovative business models and form new partnerships. This collaboration by participating companies will be proposed as Japan’s first “Form of Town”, the concepts of which will be disseminated to the world.

- A number of events are planned including the matching of businesses to promote corporate ties in the smart home and mobility fields, exhibits by IoT companies in India, Israel and ASEAN countries, and matching the aforementioned companies with those in Japan. Furthermore, an online “big data” analysis contest ― which projects sales use data from a convenience store ― will be held with the winner announced and awarded at CEATEC JAPAN 2016. Predictive modeling methodology and algorithm development will also be introduced by top data scientists.

- This zone will showcase framework development in industry-academic-government projects and clarify issues related to the implementation of new technologies by 2020. The five themes of the projects are: 1) Safety and Security; 2) Environment; 3) Universal Society; 4) Sports Entertainment; and 5) Prosperous and Attractive Local Communities.
Additional project themes moving toward 2020 are: Japan as the World Leader in Technology and Japan’s New Values and Recognition as an Advanced Country in Tackling Issues.
Tohoku & Kumamoto Recovery Support Zone
Recovery is one of the central themes of the 2020 Olympics/Paralympics and with the cooperation of the All Japan Business Committee for the Olympics/Paralympics, companies that were severely affected by the Tohoku and Kumamoto earthquakes will be invited to participate in this zone.

- During CEATEC JAPAN 2016, a wide range of events are scheduled to be held in the Open Stage area including presentations on the topics such as mobility, agriculture, energy, distribution/logistics, smart houses, and medical/healthcare.
