For the CEATEC AWARD 2019, the CEATEC 2019 Review Panel will screen and select technologies, products, services, etc. that are exhibited at CEATEC 2019. Selected from entry applications made in advance, the award candidates will be judged not only from the perspective of academic, technological, marketing and future potential but also by the level of innovativeness offered.

The CEATEC AWARD 2019 Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award will be presented to entries that have submitted applications and were exhibited at CEATEC 2019. This award will be presented to technologies, products, and services as well as supporting software, applications, parts and devices that have been recognized for their capability to enrich lifestyles and society by enhancing economic efficiency and advancing CPS/IoT and Society 5.0 (the super-smart society). These technologies include advanced applications for information communications, network, data, AI, IoT and related services such as AI networking and IoT usage in the era of IoT/big data.

The CEATEC AWARD 2019 Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award will be presented to entries that have submitted applications and were exhibited at CEATEC 2019. This award will be presented to technologies, products, and services as well as supporting software, applications, parts and devices that have been recognized for their capability to enrich lifestyles and society by enhancing economic efficiency and advancing CPS/IoT and Society 5.0 (the super-smart society). Candidates for this award will also be judged on the basis of their innovativeness and marketability, such as how they can facilitate problem-solving in business and industry, enrich society and lifestyles, create new value-systems via the use of AI, enhance robotics/big data, and promote technological developments in IoT.

The Society 5.0 TOWN Award is for exhibits by companies and organizations mainly in the Society 5.0 TOWN area that are judged to offer highly feasible and co-creative contributions to the realization of Society 5.0 (Ultra-smart Society), and which represent innovative development concepts, business models, and service models for communities and residences backed by information delivery systems and advanced automatic control systems made possible by IoT, big data, and artificial intelligence technologies. Included for consideration are: (1) urban functional services such as energy, transportation, infrastructure and disaster prevention; (2) commercial services such as logistics and sales; and (3) living services such as medical care, recreation and lifelong learning.

Entries for the Co-Creation PARK Award are technologies, products, software and services, development concepts and business models – principally exhibited in the Co-Creation PARK area by startups, universities and educational institutions – considered to represent fresh, innovative ideas, and that are judged to have excellent growth potential for contributing to the advancement of CPS/IoT and the realization of Society 5.0 (Ultra-smart society).
