Sharp Corporation highlighted the appeal of using the RoBoHoN mobile robot telephone, which it unveiled at the CEATEC JAPAN 2015 venue last year, in new applications and scenarios for corporate users.
Now one year old, RoBoHoN goes to work
It doesn’t just move its arms or legs, or sing and dance; this “RoBoHoN” mobile robot telephone takes photographs, uses a laser scanning projector in its forehead to project images on the floor or wall, holds interesting conversations, and even comes equipped with a SIM card slot. It won popularity on its release at the CEATEC JAPAN 2015 venue last year, and has drawn attention from attendees this year too, just as it turns one.
On October 3, Sharp Corporation began offering the “Work Pack,” comprising three applications for RoBoHoN, and announced that it would move to full-blown use in business applications.
A variety of different uses are anticipated, including reception duties, floor responsibilities at food establishments, and Sharp is offering demonstrations in this line at its booth. Furthermore, in preparation for inbound demand, the company says it will add English- and Chinese-language support in fiscal 2016. You are welcome to call at the booth to experience the appeal of the compact, charming, intelligent RoBoHon.
