Authentication Without a Card is Possible with this Human Body Communication Device
Panasonic has been drawing attention with Human Body Communication, a system which allows for the transmission of data between devices with just a human handshake. Transmission is only possible with a handshake, eliminating risk of data being intercepted, and it is hoped that this system can be used in the future for business card exchanges or handing out coupons.
This technology was demonstrated through colorful LEDs, with a visitors wearing an ID tag bracelet and shaking the hand of a woman wearing a skirt made to glow with LED lights. When visitors shook her hand, her skirt would glow in the same color as the ID bracelet.
Shaking hands while wearing a pink bracelet. With hands and bodies used as lines of communication, the skirt has lit up pink as well.
Demonstration of Printable Stick-On Makeup
Moving forward, the latest technology hoping to shorten the amount of time needed for makeup is these printable makeup sheets.
By looking into a special mirror, this system will analyze the skin surface and blemishes to suggest the best makeup for that user. By clicking the Print button, makeup powder will be printed onto a polymer film sheet, which can then be applied to the skin.
We had a look at the results, and found they were hardly distinguishable from regular makeup.

Developed with a Venture Company, this Gadget Can Explain an Infant’s Emotions
Standing apart even within Panasonic’s exhibition was Listnr, a gadget which can detect an infant’s emotions, and send that information to a smartphone, allowing parents away from the home to check in as well. When the infant verbalizes, that sound is analyzed through the cloud and assigned into one of four different categories: cry, laugh, babble, or growl. The device and app will then display these results by using 9 different colors.
This product was developed together with Cerevo Inc., which is widely known as a hardware venture company, and Cerevo will be selling the product. Cerevo is a good fit for the Listnr, which is not intended as a monitoring device for practical use, but rather as a fun digital gadget to enjoy.
