Non-contact golf swing diagnosis system quantifies the difference between a player’s form and the ideal

Using ICT in sports, this exhibit, called “Golf Academy,” converts the player’s golf swing into numeric values without the player having to wear sensor devices.

The system recognizes aspects of form including the address, back swing, top, impact, follow and finish, and automatically detects head movement, body angle, and wrist trajectory and so forth and converts them into numeric values so that the tricks to learning can be visualized. With the address as the starting point, the system converts the movement of the body into numeric values. This system uses these numeric values to clarify coaching which in the past was done with words, and enables players to make comparisons with their own good form or the form of professional coaches.

Hence, this analysis data can be stored in the cloud, and the degree of progress and changes can be recognized numerically so that players can improve their form and mastery of the game.

Sensor shoes that enable a walking habit to be seen at a glance

The sensors shoes feature sensor modules built-in to shoes collect information such as turning, pressure and movement of the feet, which can then sent to a smartphone wirelessly etc.

Through an application, data collected from three places on the feet is displayed graphically before the user’s eyes, so that they can quickly see such things as how much weight is on each foot and so forth. Furthermore, through collaboration with Yamaha, users can also enjoy sounds that change depending on the way they walk.

The company hopes the various data from the shoes can be collected and analyzed in conjunction with other personal and open data for use with health promotions and so forth.
