The smart society, many devices are connected to the network, and many services will continue to develop. As a reason, the device will have valuable functions and information, and some attackers want to hack devices. Therefore, if you protect the device from them, we need the safety, as well as security. In this presentation, we introduce a security analysis technique performed by the IPA, as an example a vehicle.

Toward the safety of consumer devices

Many people require the high reliability of consumer devices (Automobiles, service robots, medical and welfare equipment, smart house, etc.) that are directly connected to the society and people widely. IPA/SEC has implemented activities to ensure reliability and improve the consumer devices. And we are proposing a functional safety proposal to OMG. I will present the systems engineering that is the core of the proposal. Specially, I will explain a model-based systems engineering that is indispensable to build reliable systems.

JEITA has been expanding with the spread of “RENKEI control”. The RENKEI control is the concept of energy performance improvement achieved by cooperation between equipment on the supply side and equipment on the demand side. The RENKEI control can improve energy performance of the whole system to minimize imbalance between supply and demand of energy. In this presentation, an overview, guideline in introduction and verification of the RENKEI control will be presented.
