In medical fronts, lomg-time 3D Viewing,
such as 3 to 8 hours long, is required,
so that stress reduction to eyes is specially demanded.
In addition,
as for the specifications described in the current 3D safety guideline,
staff in medical front are calling for scientific data for evidence.
It has been believed that,
in the case of viewing a glass-required 3D image,
lens accommodation (i.e., eye focusing) is fixed on the display surface
while convergence angle (i.e., crossing of sight lines) follows
the virtual image which is popping in and out from the display.
Therefore, it is said that,
because of the discrepancy between the accommodation and convergence,
glass-required 3D image viewers should suffer from
physiological phenomena such as
sick to their stomach, visual fatigue and stress, etc.
The research group of Prof. Miyao and Prof. Ishio has carried out
scientifically substantiative experiments
by using their originally developed device
to measure both accommodation and convergence simultaneously.
Then, they have found that
both accommodation and convergence move synchronously
following the position of virtual objects,
hence no discrepancy between them.

In the exhibit, we demonstrate measurements
to show how the accommodation and convergence
have a physiological effect on our eyes
by using a human-friendly naked-eye 3D monitor.
