Company Introduction

We are technology venture firm from AIST, developing two most advanced non-destructive inspection devices.
First one is LUVI, laser ultrasonic visualizing inspector. Our laser scanning technology makes inspection faster in speed and allows inspections of complex shape subject , Furthermore, Anyone can understand its moving images result. Recently in Japan, maintenance issues of old infrastructure such as bridges and plants have been on the spotlight. Therefore, LUVI has drawn attention as a brilliant solution. It can be also applied to various industries including auto, aerospace, steel, and utility plants.
The second one is compact X-ray inspector. Compared to conventional devices our product is so light to carry(less than 2kg)and it can irradiate X-ray with only single AA battery and without pre-heating procedure. In certain situation, it does not require certified specialists for inspection. Because of its portability, it is expected to be used in various purposes.

Laser Ultrasonic Visualizing Inspector : LUVI

Laser ultrasonic visualizing technique is attracting more attention than conventional ultrasonic flaw detection system. Unique laser scanning procedure makes the area of inspection larger and application wider, for example complex shaped objects.
As measuring mechanism, pulse laser generates thermal -excited ultrasonic signals on surface of target object. The pulse laser can be directed to any points without being affected by the incidence angle and focal length of the laser, and laser beam system can scan by a dual axes rotation mirror at high speed. The propagated ultrasound signals are received by the ultrasound sensor attached to the target object. The computer records the received ultrasound signals via the low noise amplifier and the high speed A/D converter. Finally, recorded signals are reorganized to dynamic images of the ultrasonic propagation which is oscillated from the sensor.
Main applications of LUVI are detection of cracks, corrosion and voids of steel, cracks of ceramics, deterioration of resin materials, and inter-layer peeling of CFRP.

Compact X-ray Inspection System:TXR

This compact X-ray inspection system is equipped with X-ray source with a cold-cathode electron source using carbon nanostructures, which is developed in AIST.
The X-ray source use carbon nanostructures as field-emission electron sources, and can promptly generate X-rays whenever required because as it does not have a heater or a filament, it does not require preheating. As energy is consumed only while X-rays are being generated, X-rays with an energy can be generated from AA batteries.
In terms of a whole device, we have developed a small booster circuit that is the most suitable for the cold cathode X-ray source by ourselves, finally we succeeded in reducing the size to 170 mm in width, 178 mm height and 68 mm in depth. In addition, it can irradiate 60kV-50ms X-ray 100 times with an AA battery.
Besides 60kV type above, after completing developments of 100kV type, 120kV type, and 150kV type, these devices will allow easy X-ray inspection procedure for general people, and make applications increase for lab use, factory use, quality assurance, and security purpose. We are sure that we will provide solutions for quality improvement of products and security and safety of public.
