Microwave Resonant Power Transfer Technology Using Open Ring Resonator Coupling.、
Exhibitor Information
Microwave resonant power transmission will be demonstrated. The system uses two open-ring resonators, which diameter is about λ/6, 7 cm for 915MHz and 8mm for 5.8 GHz. The 915MHz rings can be made of aluminum plate, so they are light and suitable for charging of drones. A 2cm x 4cm square aluminum pipe is used for power distribution at 5.8 GHz, where mono-pole antenna and the open-ring will be used for the power take-out without metallic contacts.
Due to rectification losses at high frequencies, wide band-gap semiconductors such as SiC, GaN, and Ga2O3 will be used for the rectification. Unfortunately, however, there is no commercially available diodes, so, Laser Systems Inc. is also developing GaN Schottky barrier diode in collaboration with Tokushima University.
