Exhibitor Information
We develop physically based techniques for predicting objects' appearance and motion, and for their designs, with applications to computer animation and computational fabrications. For predicting photo realistic appearance of objects, we have been working on accurate and efficient optical simulation techniques with inter-reflections between objects and multiple scattering inside media in consideration. For predicting objects' motion, we have been working on simulating elasto-viscoplastic materials based on the material point method, and developed techniques for simulating granular materials and non-Newtonian fluids such as cream. Furthermore, we have developed physically based design methods including a lens design technique that enables the generation of the desired caustics such as a photograph. We will show these techniques during the event.
