Established in 2005 in Tokyo, the Rakuten Institute of Technology conducts research and develops new technologies with a view to the future direction of the internet. Today, it has 6 locations in 5 countries, and around 100 expert researchers working in a range of fields.
Research is founded on the three pillars: “Building infrastructure of Rakuten services”, “Statics Analysis of Data in Rakuten” and “Bringing new user experiences to life.”
As a next stage, we established Future Merchant Design Laboratory. Collaborating with merchants of Rakuten Ichiba and partner companies, the laboratory propels research and development fully focused on technology utilization intended to realize new customer experiences or resolute regional problems. Through the design of technologies and experiences, we also confront the challenges that stores have with regards to working style.
In this CEATEC, we will propose “A new merchant and working style” with our system, Remote Styling Support System.
