Exhibitor Information

The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), one of the largest public research organizations in Japan, focuses on R&D of technologies useful to industry and society. AIST’s booth features pioneering results and introduction of Internet of Things and Artificial intelligence (AI) research. The Electronics and Manufacturing Department will showcase the connected factory demonstrating at Global Open Innovation Laboratory (GOIL), such as sensing from conventional processing machine, conversion of sensing data to meaningful information, and augmented reality operation assistance technology. The Information Technology and Human Factors Department will exhibit the latest core AI technologies including data acquisition from GOIL, machine learning using ABCI (a super computer for AI, which ranked 5th on the TOP500), recognition technologies of human daily actions and 3D objects' functions applied to a robot, and generation of text describing time series data.
