CEATEC JAPAN Executive Board
The CEATEC JAPAN Executive Board (Chairman: Shusaku Nagae) has announced the successful completion today, Oct. 6, of CEATEC JAPAN 2017, which was held at Makuhari Messe (Mihama, Chiba) from Tuesday, Oct. 3. The number of companies and organizations participating was 667 – of which 327 were exhibiting for the first time – and the total number of registered visitors was 152,066 (up 6,886 or 4.7% on last year). Over the 4 days, the venue was bustling with visitors representing a wide variety of industries. The average number per day exceeded 38,000, a level not seen in 9 years since CEATEC JAPAN 2008. (Note: CEATEC’s highest ever daily average is 41,171.8 registered visitors, recorded in 2007, when the 5-day event attracted a record total of 205,859 visitors.)
The concept for CEATEC JAPAN 2017 – a global showcase for Japan’s growth strategies and vision of the future known as Society 5.0 – was “Connecting Society, Creating the Future”. Breaking down barriers by connecting policies, industries and technologies, this CPS/IoT exhibition has set a new standard as a forum for co-creation of the ultra-smart community of the future in which IoT, robots and AI will all play important roles. Next year, CEATEC will seek the participation of an even wider range of industries, accelerating the pace of innovation and aiming to make “Connecting Society, Creating the Future” a reality. CEATEC JAPAN 2018 will be held at Makuhari Messe for 4 days: Tuesday Oct. 16 to Friday Oct. 19.
