Ayla Networks, a global Internet of Things (IoT) platform for manufacturers, announced today that it has signed an official strategic cooperation agreement with China Unicom (HKEx: 0762; NYSE: CHU), one of three major providers of telecommunications services in China, to develop solutions for smart home and other IoT markets. The two companies will leverage their respective technology, products, services and channel resources to deliver IoT innovations worldwide.
The announcement was made at a conference in Guangzhou sponsored by China Unicom for the IoT industry. At the conference, Ayla and China Unicom are showcasing some of their ideas for future IoT joint development, including smart home, smart hotel, connected car, intelligent cold chain, artificial intelligence (AI) and other IoT solutions.
“We see tremendous promise in working with China Unicom to build new IoT solutions that enhance the growing Ayla IoT platform ecosystem,” said Phillip Chang, co-founder, vice president and general manager of Greater China for Ayla Networks. “With China Unicom’s comprehensive high-quality information and communications services, we are particularly excited about developing mobile IoT solutions.”
In June 2017, China Unicom launched its Global IoT Connectivity Cooperation Initiative, which is designed to expand the global IoT business market and create more value through cooperation between China Unicom and its partners.
Ayla’s IoT platform provides comprehensive device, cloud and mobile app connectivity for any kind of product. The Ayla platform not only speeds manufacturers’ time to market for connected products, it also handles the intricacies of IoT security, performance, scalability and interoperability. As a result, manufacturers can focus on what they do best, while using the real-world knowledge gained from their connected products to improve multiple aspects of their business.
