The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), one of the largest public research organizations in Japan, focuses on the creation and development of technologies useful to the society. In the AIST booth, Information Technology and Human Factors Department and Electronics and Manufacturing Department show their most up-to-date and hottest R&D results. The former will exhibit application systems and core technologies of artificial intelligence such as robots handling soft objects like towels, 3-dimensional object recognition using machine learning, and so on. As a data collection for AI, we will also introduce a data collection system using the VR environment and human correlation analysis method for automobiles. The latter will exhibit activities of “Vertically Integrated Center for Technologies of Optical Routing for Ideal Energy Savings (VICTORIES),” under Creation of Innovation Centers for Advanced Interdisciplinary Research Areas Program of MEXT, Japan.
