Company Introduction

Origin Wireless Japan, Inc. aims to deliver “smart radios for smart life” with our spatial cognition engine, the “Time Reversal Machine” (TRM) which utilizes radio wave multipaths as virtual sensors, and provide sensor-free IoT platform.
Dr. Ray Liu at University of Maryland, who chaired the IEEE Signal processing society, invented this TRM technology, which detects the multi-paths of radio waves including WiFi radio waves. This technology enables us to percept the space only with WiFi communication and requires no installation of specific sensors. This technology achieves indoor localization of 1 to 2 cm level accuracy.
In this exhibition, visitors can experience the innovative spatial cognition IoT of the TRM engines. The experience of wearable-free and sensor-free spatial cognition will change the perception of practical IoT systems.

The Time Reversal Machine(TRM) and the Origin & Bot System

The Time Reversal Machine (TRM) technology of Origin Wireless is an innovative system which can detect the spatial state only by analyzing the WiFi radio signals, using a pair of Origin (access point) and Bot (WiFi device). It is an entirely new concept to utilize the WiFi signal itself as virtual sensors to enable the sensor-free IoT solution. You can test and verify the TRM engine as a SDK kit including a set of API commands.
Currently, we have multiple engines to be simultaneously utilized, including “Motion” to detect movements in the space, “Breathing” to detect breathing, “Guard” to detect opening-closing of doors/windows. Combination of these engines will enable the creation of an advanced spatial cognition solution including a watch-over service for single living elderly people.
