Simultaneous collection of data with BLE from10 people wearing biometric sensors in the Futsal match

NTT Docomo has developed the “hitoe transmitter,” which enables one-on-one connection between smartphones and so forth via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). This is a unit that enables operations with wearable biosensors to continually acquire pulse, ECG waveform and acceleration etc.

NTT West has built a lossless system for receiving data from users on the move between multiple access points collecting data from the hitoe transmitters. In the Futsal match played with five-a-side teams, the company has successfully demonstrated no-loss reception of biometric data from a total of 10 people.

“This system can be used to acquire the pulse or distance moved of players or performers in sports or variety programs, which on principle can be used as a system to project information overlaid on a screen. Thus, we envisage applied in the entertainment field” (Kenji Yasunaga, Director, Development Promotions, R&D Center, NTT West).

Including this system, the group is presenting and describing a total of 19 systems in its booth such as the “Robo-Connect” care support robot, an IoT abnormal sound detection solution, and the tentatively named “Things Cloud.”
