CEATEC JAPAN Executive Board

The CEATEC JAPAN Executive Board, comprised of three organizations – the Communications and Information Network Association of Japan (CIAJ), the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), and the Computer Software Association of Japan (CSAJ) – is pleased to announce that CEATEC JAPAN 2016 will be held in October 2016.

This year’s exhibition theme is Connecting Society, Creating the Future. The Internet of Things (IoT) holds astonishing potential to change almost every “thing” around, generating new value. IoT enables the collection of a wide variety of information, while cyber physical systems (CPS) utilize the results of big data analysis for feedback to the physical world. CPS/IoT will transform conventional industrial structures and business models for all industries, and by creating new value they will bring about changes to society itself. The choice of Connecting Society, Creating the Future as the CEATEC JAPAN theme is thus very timely.

CEATEC JAPAN has been known as the comprehensive exhibition for cutting-edge IT and electronics. However, from this year it has been recast as a CPS/IoT Exhibition, providing a venue to visualize and contribute to the creation of a future in which society will benefit from the profound potential of CPS/IoT. Exhibitors offering solutions based on the sort of devices and products traditionally seen at CEATEC JAPAN will be joined by a new cadre of exhibitors representing such fields as mobility, energy, and healthcare as well as service-focused industries. This new exhibition – the first of its kind – will bring together a very broad range of players with a vast array of devices, products and services. And as CEATEC JAPAN embarks on this fresh chapter in its history, a new zoning concept will be adopted, resulting in a total of 4 areas: Town, Home, Community, and CPS/IoT Technology & Software. (Further details will be released in July of this year.)

Exhibitor applications will be accepted from February 22 until May 31, 2016.
