Company Introduction

The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) can be characterized as a vast number of connected industrial systems that are communicating and coordinating their data analytics and actions to improve industrial performance and benefit society as a whole. To adapt to changing requirements, devices that power the IIoT will need to be built on an open, integrated hardware/software platform and a real-time network that can scale with new technologies. National Instruments technologies are all platform based and designed to follow the commercial technology curve with less impact to development and management costs. Stop by NI booth to see the platform-based approach and IoT case studies.

Exhibiting Products

Exhibiting Products 1

LabVIEW

From the inception of an idea to the commercialization of a widget, NI’s unique platform-based approach to engineering and science applications has driven progress across a wide variety of industries. Central to this approach is LabVIEW, a development environment designed specifically to accelerate the productivity of engineers and scientists. With a graphical programming syntax that makes it simple to visualize, create, and code engineering systems, LabVIEW is unmatched in helping engineers translate their ideas into reality, reduce test times, and deliver business insights based on collected data. From building smart machines to ensuring the quality of connected devices, LabVIEW has been the preferred solution to create, deploy, and test the Internet of Things for decades.

Exhibiting Products 2

CompactRIO

The CompactRIO controller includes a processor and reconfigurable FPGA. The processor is used for network communication, data logging, control, and processing with the deterministic and reliable NI Linux Real-Time OS. With the user-programmable FPGA, you can implement custom hardware for high-speed control, inline data processing, or complex timing and triggering.
The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is generating massive amounts of data more than ever before. Engineers and scientists will be pushed to make smarter, more informed decisions and faster than ever before.
The CompactRIO platform is ideal for addressing this need, providing the ability to process and analyze acquired data in real time locally as well as across the entire enterprise to make informed decisions fast. With CompactRIO, you can leverage hundreds of built-in signal processing, analysis, control, and mathematics functions to accelerate the development of your application. These libraries can be used across both the processor and the FPGA allowing you to adapt to the specific needs of your application. Whether the task is advanced analysis, high-speed event detection, or signal or image processing, CompactRIO allows you to handle the task directly at the edge, making CompactRIO the most flexible intelligent edge device available.

Exhibiting Products 3

Data Acquisition (DAQ)

DAQ is the process of measuring an electrical or physical phenomenon such as voltage, current, temperature, pressure, or sound with a computer. A DAQ system consists of sensors, DAQ measurement hardware, and a computer with programmable software. Compared to traditional measurement systems, PC-based DAQ systems exploit the processing power, productivity, display, and connectivity capabilities of industry-standard computers providing a more powerful, flexible, and cost-effective measurement solution.

NI CompactDAQ is a portable, rugged DAQ platform that integrates connectivity and signal conditioning into modular I/O for directly interfacing to any sensor or signal. From in-vehicle data logging to benchtop research, the breadth of bus, chassis, controller, and I/O conditioning options combined with the customizable nature of LabVIEW software provide the best solution to meet the needs of any medium-channel-count application.
