CEATEC JAPAN 2015 held CEATEC AWARD 2015 under this year's theme of "NEXT — Today’s Dreams, Future Realities” with the aim of contributing to the creation of markets and advancement of the IT and electronics industries. This press release announces the Grand Prix and Semi Grand Prix winners in each category decided through the rigorous scrutiny of the CEATEC AWARD panel of judges. The panel also decided on the Special Judges’ Award for a product strongly recommended.

Product description

This is a successful and dramatic reduction of costs while maintaining performance of coupling systems for high-precision satellite positioning models and IMU, systems which conventionally cost around $100,000. This new technology has enabled the rapid spread of these systems in machineries used for agricultural, forestry and fisheries, construction equipment, drones, self-driving vehicles and safety management systems. These systems will enable management of work machinery and vehicles via the cloud and contribute to highly efficient operations. By being made into chips in the future, this is a technology that will enable high-precision understanding of the movements of people and objects and enable sophistication of public institutions

This realized a top-level, high-precision satellite positioning system with extraordinarily low cost. Focusing on agriculture, this technology has the potential to bring about major innovations.

Ideas were collected through company-internal auditions, and carefully scrutinized in conjunction with external specialists. Ideas accepted to become businesses have unique business models.
