Among the technologies, products and services to be exhibited at CEATEC 2020 ONLINE, the CEATEC AWARD 2020 Panel of Judges will evaluate the exhibits and projects submitted in advance by exhibitors, and select those assessed to be highly innovative and superior in terms of their academic and technological perspectives as well as their marketability and future potential.

The Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award recognizes the candidate (see next paragraph for eligible candidates) deemed to be the most beneficial for living standards and society through digital transformation in the New Normal society as well as enhancing the efficiency of economic activities and promoting added value through the advancement of the CPS/IoT community and the realization of Society 5.0. This includes but is not limited to the advanced utilization of information and communications networks, data, AI technologies, and IoT technologies in the age of IoT and Big Data, as well as the provision of services via such technologies, the development of AI networks and the use of IoT in local communities.
Candidates for the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award are projects, technologies, products and services, as well as supporting software, applications, components and devices exhibited at CEATEC 2020 ONLINE and which have been registered in advance by the exhibitors for consideration for the CEATEC Awards.

The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award recognizes the most innovative candidate (see next paragraph for eligible candidates) deemed to be beneficial for the advancement of the CPS/IoT community and the realization of Society 5.0 (ultra-smart society) with high market potential and creativity to drive digital transformation in the New Normal society through contributing to upgrade the solution of lifestyle/business/industry issues by creating new value using AI, robotics and Big Data; through transformational approaches to manufacturing; through services utilizing IoT; or though the development of technology to promote IoT across diverse fields.

Regarding “Projects that Encourage Co-creation and Proposals to the New Normal Society”: The following awards will be given to projects that are judged to be outstanding in multiple aspects, such as practicality, contribution to society, technological sophistication, and marketability.

The awards will be given to new solutions and services that sustainably maintain and develop "people's lives" in the New Normal society, and to those that are recognized for their innovation, feasibility and contribution to society.

The awards will be given to elemental technologies such as the IoT technology, as well as devices and technologies used in the elemental technologies, as well as the concepts behind these technologies, that are used to sustain and develop the New Normal society, and that have been evaluated as being advanced, technologically advanced, and as having excellent applicability to products and services.

The award will be presented to projects that are considered to have an outstanding contribution to future society, feasibility, and innovation in technologies and services that promote the co-creation of proposals to local governments and other industries, with the aim of realizing a smart city that leads the way to a New Normal society.

This award is open to a wide range of IoT and related technologies, products, services, software, applications, and business models, and will be presented to those that are judged to be superior from multiple aspects, including practicality, contribution to society, technological sophistication, and marketability.

This award is open to applications from start-up companies, universities and research institutes that have developed and brought IoT and related technologies, products, services, software applications, and business models to the market. The award will be given to projects that are judged to be outstanding from multiple aspects, such as practicality, contribution to society, technological sophistication, and marketability.
