Ray Tron, a company that has brought about unique technical elements in the voice, imaging and communications fields, is presenting its “Voice Magic” voice recognition engine that boasts a high recognition rate even in noisy environments. The company is demonstrating new products using these technologies and is presenting new technologies.
Chapit’s diverse functionality
Especially gaining attention in the Ray Tron exhibit is the “Chapit” independent support communications robot, which reacts even when spoken to in a noisy environment from a distance of about 2 to 3 m.
In addition to the superior voice recognition capabilities of the company’s voice recognition engine, the robot also features functions required for independent support for the elderly and in care situations such as communications functions that remember and respond to up to 1000 words, appliance control functions such as “turn the TV off” and “turn the lights on,” brain training functions that produce quizzes and computational problems, and time support functions that remind users when to eat, bathe and take medicine etc.
As well as Chapit, the company is presenting a human detection system born through joint industry-university research with Onoye Laboratory, Osaka University Graduate School of Information Science and Technology. By learning the shapes of peoples’ upper or lower bodies in advance, this system instantly detects people in a particular space regardless of their clothes or their size to make out data such as the number of people passing through and congestion.
