Expectations for new development in ICT to create new value and to drive new growth will heighten more with the big expectations for raising convenience in lifestyles and solving social issues with ICT against the backgrop of rapidly advancing smartphones, big data applications and expectations for higher definition broadcasting.
In addition, there is no doubt that the recent Nobel Prize-winning blue LED development, the use of light in the agricultural sector, the a sophisticated future ICT society, advanced Japanese industry, ICT, optical media and social living standards will continue to further benefit us all.
Incidentally this year is the International Year of Light, talks will be given from the perspective of government, and academia on the outlook for ICT and our future lifestyles and their involvement with “light”, and the direction of the societies of the future.
