Looking forward to an encounter in a metropolis linked to the future.

Recent Work: Nous sommes tous des robots, Éditions Michalon

As a huge fan and compulsive observer of Japanese industry and design, I have been participating in CEATEC JAPAN for many years. Every year, I am always impressed by the innovative technologies not seen elsewhere: from robots, exoskeletons, and wearable devices to new transportation alternatives, smart cities and high-resolution 3D displays. I have also met and interviewed brilliant engineers and entrepreneurs from Japan and many other countries. It has been my great pleasure to see the exhibition grow and become more user-friendly to foreign journalists and visitors thanks the significant effort made to improve upon written resources and translation. The response of my audience to CEATEC JAPAN has always been outstanding with a high viewership possessing a wealth of relevant comments and questions. It is well known that France is obsessed with Japanese culture and technology, and CEATEC JAPAN is no exception. Finally, for a journalist, participating in the popular CEATEC JAPAN in the Greater Tokyo Area ― a metropolis “linked to the future and technology” at its very soul ― further enhances my attraction to the event.

The evolution of an exhibition exemplifying the culture and origins of Japan.

The focus of my work this year will center on healthcare technologies, making me particularly interested in the relationship between technology and the medical/healthcare field. As a specialist in robotics and wearable devices, I will also be paying close attention to innovations in these fields. And because I work for the mainstream media, the focus of my efforts on technologies will always be centered on keeping viewers informed. I am very pleased to see CEATEC JAPAN evolve as one of the best exhibitions of its kind in the world and I hope that it will continue to retain its Japanese origins and culture, differentiating it from other tech shows of the industry.
I am confident that CEATEC JAPAN will remain as an important source of information and inspiration for all participants.

Profile: Olivier Levard

I have been a tech journalist for many years for the channels and websites of TF1 ― Europe’s largest television group. And I am now covering CEATEC JAPAN for several media concerns including France 5 “Le magazine de la santé”, a major health show on television. I have also recently published a book about wearable devices and the man of the future (Nous sommes tous des robots, Éditions Michalon) in which CEATEC JAPAN and participant exhibitors throughout the years (NEC, Honda, Cyberdyne, Sony, etc.) are extensively quoted. As an otaku or “geek” author, I have been making commentary about tech subjects and robotics for many of France’s major radio programs (RTL, Europe 1, BFM, etc.) and newspapers.
