A healthy life supported by ICT technology
The Continua Health Alliance consists of over 150 companies involved in all aspects of the health industry, from medical device vendors through to technology vendors and all points between. The Continua Health Alliance is proud to exhibit at CEATEC JAPAN this year.
The Alliance is the largest organization of its kind in the world, and was formed with the joint aims of promoting digital healthcare and medical devices and establishing a set of global communication standards for these devices therein. By working towards a future where data is categorized and tagged in a uniform way, and communication protocols are common throughout the industry worldwide, the Alliance looks to promote and develop better health solutions.
Shinsuke Tagami, the Marketing Manager and Senior Director at the Center for the Future of Medical Care, Fujitsu Inc., states that: “Globally, there are countries like Denmark, Singapore and the UK who have a specific centralized infrastructure in place to handle medical data – and then there are countries like Japan where we have so many distinct medical organizations that are developing solutions and feeding in to the market. If we can develop and establish a set of standards and protocols that can work in all these countries, it is a win-win scenario for all involved.”
The activities of the Continua Health Alliance are becoming more and more important, in their efforts to support the efficient and effective use of ICT technology in healthcare and healthy living.
