Exhibiting Products 1

Connecting components (connectors, switches, relays)

Alps Develops SCHA9B Series microSD(TM) Memory Card Connector (PCB Cut-off Type)

The SCHA9B Series is the industry' s thinnest with a product height when installed of 0.69mm above the PCB, realized through a continuation of thickness reductions achieved with earlier models and use of a PCB cut-off format, whereby the connector is mounted into a cut-out in the board.

The product's structure was optimized through application of original simulation technology acquired by Alps Electric to date. Enclosing the top and bottom of the connector within a metal frame realizes both the thinnest installed height for a PCB cut-off type and a structure resilient to scooping.* Precision processing and thin film insert molding technologies were used to ensure high quality in mass production.

*Scooping:
Prying a card out by wiggling it in directions other than the direction of card insertion and removal

Features

Alps Develops SKST Series Quiet Middle-Stroke TACT Switch(TM)

Alps Electric has now developed and commenced mass production of the SKST Series TACT Switch(TM) (Quiet Middle-Stroke Type) realizing both quiet operation and an excellent operating feel. As a TACT Switch(TM) with a 4N operating force and a long operating life of 500,000 cycles, the SKST Series achieves both quietness and excellent feel, enabling comfortable environments for operation of in-vehicle systems.

Alps Electric created the switch's excellent operating feel by applying mechanical engineering technology which the company has built up over the years, optimizing the shape and material of metal contacts using proprietary know-how and innovating with the internal structure to achieve a 0.9mm middle stroke. The newly developed metal contacts are used in combination with a rubber stem, enabling additional enhancements in quiet operation.

Features
TACT Switch(TM) achieving both quiet operation and excellent operating feel
1.Both quiet operation and excellent feel achieved through development of original metal contacts
2.0.9mm middle stroke produces an excellent operating feel
3.Pre-stroke structure facilitates integration by the customer

Principal Applications
Control switches for automotive applications, including steering wheels and audio systems

Industrial equipment, metrology equipment, etc.
