March 29, 2021

Exhibition Dates: October 18 (Tue) – 22 (Fri), Venue: Makuhari Messe & Online
Exhibitor Applications Accepted: From March 24 (Tue),
Deadline of priority acceptance of exhibit applications: May 31 (Mon)

The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA: Representative Director and Chairman, Shigeki Ishizuka; also Vice Chairman, Representative Corporate Executive Officer, Sony Corporation) has announced that CEATEC 2021 will be held physically at Makuhari Messe (Mihama, Chiba) and online. Since the first show in 2000, the exhibition has accumulated a long history, and in 2020, for the first time the show was held entirely online, attracting a total of more than 150,000 visitors. As innovative technologies in CPS/IoT gather at CEATEC every year, the show will also leap forward to become an innovative exhibition—this year, CEATEC 2021 will be held at Makuhari Messe and online, seamlessly connecting the two venues, with the aim of creating a “venue to achieve co-creation” realized through the integration of cyber and physical spaces. The exhibition theme will be “Connecting Society, Co-Creating the Future” and the slogan will be “Cyber-Physical Exhibition with/after COVID-19”. The show will commence live for four days from October 19 (Tue) and 22 (Fri), while the online exhibition will be held before and after the physical exhibition.
Kiyoshi Shikano, the executive producer of CEATEC stated, “While CEATEC 2020 ONLINE received a certain amount of praise for its ability to be visited at any time of the day, many exhibitors and visitors alike preferred seeing the actual products and wanted to feel the excitement of the venue. As the sponsor the event, we’d like to respond to these expectations. Although there is still no concrete answer to the question of the best mix of physical and cyber events, our goal is not just to hold a hybrid event, but to create so called a ‘digital twin’, an extension of the CEATEC experience realized by seamlessly connecting the physical and cyber spaces. Thanks to your support, more than 450 people participated in the briefing session for prospective exhibitors held online on March 17th. Together with exhibitors, we will take on the challenge of creating a new form of CEATEC”.
