selected as Keynote Speaker for CEATEC 2019

The CEATEC Executive Board – consisting of the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association, the Communications and Information Network Association of Japan, and the Computer Software Association of Japan – has announced that CEATEC 2019 will feature a keynote speech given by Mr. Masato Sasaki, President of Takenaka, on October 17th, the third day of the exhibition. Mr. Sasaki is scheduled to talk under the theme Takenaka Corporation’s Society 5.0 urban development aiming for the realization of sustainable societies. CEATEC 2019 is a comprehensive exhibition of Society 5.0, bringing together innovative CPS/IoT technologies from a wide range of businesses and industries. The exhibition will be held from October 15 (Tuesday) to 18 (Friday) at Makuhari Messe in Mihama-ku, Chiba-city.
CEATEC KEYNOTES that started in 2018, which garnered huge audiences, has been announced again with enhanced content. As one of the keynotes at CEATEC 2019, Mr. Sasaki will be taking the rostrum as the first business entrepreneur in the history of CEATEC from the construction industry.
In the event of selecting Takenaka as one of the keynote speakers, Mr. Sasaki commented as follows: “The functions and values required by cities and buildings are constantly advancing and diversifying. Takenaka has been promoting activities that contribute to the realization of a safe and secure sustainable society by accurately responding to the needs of and problems society is facing, and by actively using rapidly advancing AI, robots, big data, etc. In the keynote speech, we will introduce digitization of architecture and urban creation supporting Society 5.0 through our latest projects while showing urban creation and solutions that we are working on.”
Born in 1953 in Hyogo Prefecture, Mr. Sasaki graduated from the Department of Urban Engineering of the University of Tokyo in 1977. Since entering Takenaka Corporation in April of the same year, he has been engaged in urban development for a long time, e.g., manager in the Office of Project Development, and general manager of the Office of Kansai Project Promotion. After becoming an executive officer in 2012, managing executive officer in 2015 and senior managing executive officer in 2017, he became president in March 2019. Based on the company's Management Philosophy, Contribute to society by leaving the best works to future generations, and with its master builder spirit and works principle that have continued uninterrupted since the company foundation, and its Integrated Design-Build System as main pillars, Mr. Sasaki is leading an organization with the aim of a sustainable society that realizes Society 5.0 by providing new value with new solutions and business models that fuse construction technology and services in order to respond to the needs of and problems that society is facing as a "comprehensive engineering firm for urban creation."
The keynote speech is a part of CEATEC Keynotes, which is given by business leaders of various industries. Mr. Sasaki’s keynote, which is a part of conferences, will be held at one of the convention halls in Makuhari Messe’s International Conference Hall from 14:45 (2:45PM) on Thursday, October 17th.
