CEATEC JAPAN is the premier CPS/IoT exhibition showcasing innovative technologies in diverse industries that are playing a part in realizing Society 5.0, Japan's vision of the future. CEATEC JAPAN 2018 will be held October 16th - 20th at Makuhari Messe.

The CEATEC JAPAN Executive Board, comprised of three organizations - the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), the Communications and Information Network Association of Japan (CIAJ), and the Computer Software Association of Japan (CSAJ) - is pleased to announce that CEATEC JAPAN 2018 will be held this October at Makuhari Messe (Mihama, Chiba City).

CEATEC JAPAN is a comprehensive exhibition for innovative CPS/IoT technologies and solutions, a forum for co-creation that serves to break down barriers by linking policies, industries and technologies. As reflected in this year's theme of "Connecting Society, Co-Creating the Future", the focus is on co-creation - bringing together a wide range of industries to generate, share, and disseminate new approaches to realizing Society 5.0, Japan's growth strategy and vision of the future. CEATEC JAPAN 2018 will be held for 4 days: Tuesday Oct. 16 to Friday Oct. 19, 2018. Priority exhibition applications will be accepted from Tuesday, February 20 to Friday, April 27. (Note that exhibition applications will be accepted even after the aforementioned deadline, as long as there are booth spaces remaining).

This year's event aims to further accelerate the pace of innovation, generating new opportunities and businesses. In addition to the 4 main technologies - electronic components/devices & equipment, AI & big data, 5G, and cyber security - 6 new industries and markets will be represented this year: mobility/logistics, smart factory, smart work, smart life/energy, fitness/healthcare, and entertainment. CEATEC JAPAN 2018 welcomes the participation of frontrunners in today's fast-growing industries that utilize CPS/IoT - such as electronics, energy, industrial machinery, housing & interior design, and toys/games. Organizer Areas will include IoT Town for services, Startup & University Area for next-generation startups, and Global Area hosted by institutions from abroad. 2018 marks the 19th year of CEATEC JAPAN; however, in 2016 the show underwent a major transformation, from being a comprehensive IT/electronics show to become a CPS/IoT exhibition focused on new concepts and business models for the future, with a focus on how CPS/IoT can serve society. It brings bringing together diverse industries to foster the co-creation of future technologies and solutions. CEATEC JAPAN also encourages international cooperation on policies, industries, and technologies, including new business creation. And it has been growing in both scope and scale: in 2017 the show had 667 exhibitors and 152,066 registered visitors, both figures up on the previous year.
