CEATEC 2020 ONLINE Opens on October 20th
This year’s will be the first ever to be held online, focusing on the theme “New Normal”. A total of 356 exhibitors will be showcasing the latest solutions and technologies.

The CEATEC Executive Board, comprised of three organizations – the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), the Communications and Information Network Association of Japan (CIAJ), and the Computer Software Association of Japan (CSAJ) – is pleased to announce that CEATEC 2020 ONLINE will be held from October 20th (Tue.) to 23rd (Fri.) as an online exhibition. Leveraging the fact that it’s an online exhibition, the show content will be available for on-demand viewing until December 31st.

The CEATEC exhibition was first held in 2000 to showcase how people’s lives can be enriched through the use of technology. Since that inaugural event, the exhibition has grown every year and is now recognized as a preeminent digital consumer-electronics tradeshow. In 2016, CEATEC went through a major transformation to become the "Comprehensive Exhibition of Society 5.0", focusing on how lifestyles and society in general can be revolutionized via the application of IoT and Co-creation. Last year, the show marked its 20th anniversary. This year, where it will be held fully online for the first time ever to help prevent the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), CEATEC 2020 ONLINE will widely disseminate diverse solutions and technologies in the New Normal era under the slogan CEATEC – Toward Society 5.0 with the New Normal.

CEATEC 2020 ONLINE will feature a total of 357 exhibitors participating in three exhibition areas: New Normal Themed Area, Corporate Area, and Co-Creation PARK. Of these, 164 are new exhibitors, and as the event will be held online for the first time, many of the companies/organizations that are leading the digital transformation (DX) will be gathering, mainly new faces. The aforementioned total includes 71 international exhibitors. CEATEC 2020 ONLINE will provide a venue to see, hear, feel and think of the technologies and life under New Normal era, and aim to generate new creations together.

Over 70 conferences and keynote sessions will be held daily throughout the exhibition. This year, there are a wide variety of content from New Normal to 5G and sessions for students as well. What’s more, after the conclusion of the show, the talks and specialized sessions from a number of top leaders will be available on VOD starting Wednesday, October 28th.
This year, CEATEC 2020 ONLINE is expecting approximately 200,000 visitors to participate in the exhibition during the four-day period. The actual total of visitors will be announced after the exhibition concludes, on Monday, October 26th.
