The CEATEC Executive Board, comprised of three organizations – the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), the Communications and Information Network Association of Japan (CIAJ), and the Computer Software Association of Japan (CSAJ) – is pleased to announce that CEATEC 2019 will be held for four days from October 15th (Tue.) to 18th (Fri.) at Makuhari Messe (Mihama, Chiba City).

The CEATEC exhibition was first held in 2000 to showcase how people’s lives can be enriched through the use of technology. Since that inaugural event, the exhibition has grown in stature every year and is now recognized as a preeminent digital consumer-electronics tradeshow. In 2016, the CEATEC event went through a major transformation to become the "Comprehensive Exhibition of Society 5.0", focusing on how lifestyles and society in general can be revolutionized via the application of IoT and Co-creation. This year marks the 20th anniversary of this outstanding event and CEATEC 2019 will focus on the exhibition theme of "Connecting Society, Co-Creating the Future” to highlight the latest technologies designed to enhance the societies of tomorrow.

In addition to a focus on IT and electronics, CEATEC 2019 will feature a total of 787 exhibitors participating from a broad spectrum of businesses and industries such as finance, tourism, toys, housing, machine tools, construction, telecommunications, and healthcare. The aforementioned total includes 250 international exhibitors (21.4% increase compared to 2018) from around the world — Switzerland and Russia will be setting up pavilions for the first time, alongside the United States, China, Taiwan, and India.

CEATEC 2019 will feature special exhibits and events to promote the applications of Co-creation such as Society 5.0 TOWN, which will showcase “A City in 2030”, and the Co-Creation PARK featuring informative pavilions of international organizations and global startup firms influencing future society. Other special events will include exhibits providing virtual-reality experiences of what societies of the future will look like and how “smart” technologies and mobility can be used to enhance the lifestyles of today.

Over 200 conferences and keynote sessions sure to be popular with visitors such as CEATEC KEYNOTE and CEATEC SUMMIT will be held daily throughout the exhibition. This year, an impressive number of influential industry leaders will be making presentations as keynote speakers from companies including ANA, JTB, and JapanTaxi. Also scheduled will be informative panel discussions covering themes such as 5G and AI.
CEATEC 2019 will showcase new applications for societies of the future realized through Society 5.0 and approximately 160,000 visitors are expected to participate in the exhibition during the four-day period. The actual total of visitors will be announced after the exhibition is concluded.
