XYZ Printing Japan Shows 3D Printers Not Yet Released on the Japanese Market

category : NEXT Innovation Area

CEATEC JAPAN 2015 is the first time that XYZ Printing Japan has exhibited. The company presented a range of 3D printers not yet on the market in Japan.

3D printers with laser engraving and 3D scanning features on exhibit

XYZ is the Japanese 3D printer arm of the Taiwanese New Kinpo Group, an EMS major. The company develops and manufactures 3D printers that feed out molten resinous filaments and move a stage around to build up layers, to freely produce 3D shapes (dissolved plastic lamination method (FFF)). Light-shaping 3D printers (SLA) are also available.

Robot part data is available from a website. The 3D print-out attachments can be swapped.

In its first exhibition at CEATEC, XYZ Printing Japan exhibited a total of 4 models with added Wi-Fi, laser engraving and 3D scanning functions, all of which grabbed the attention of show visitors.

The company also presented a pen-type terminal that feeds out molten filaments from its tip and a radio controlled hobby robot. Shape data for robot attachments are available from a website which can be output through a 3D printer in the home with the idea of swapping the robot’s parts.

Keiichiro Araihara, XYZ Printing Japan’s Marketing Manager says “In the promising 3D printing market with its broadening applications, we purposely want to create new ways to have fun.”
